Through out the book, The Lion, The Witch and The wardrobe acts very selfish and only cares for himself. Though by the end, he realizes what he has done and acts for forgiveness that doesn't make what he did right. I did not like the way that he acted at the beginning. He was only thinking about himself and what he wanted. He didn't care about him family or what he was doing because his greed took over. Edmund's greed was very powerful and it took him a lot to realize who he was really following and what he had done. Not only did Edmund be greety and selfish, he allowed someone else to pay for what he had done. He did not even express his thankfullness to Aslan for what Aslan had done for him. He just kept thinkinmg about himself. "Me, me me" is what he thought. Thankfully at the end he realized what he had done and was forgiven by everyone for his selfish mistakes.
When Edmund had realized who the white witch really is is when he came to his senses and fixed his mistakes. After edmund learned the the white with really wasn't the queen as many people were saying he still returned to her. When he met Aslan he saw that Aslan was good and immeditaly new that the white with was not supposed to be the one he was following. He returned to her because of his greed and selfishness. He wanted more turkish delight for himself and most of all to be king, higher than his brother, Peter. Edmund had not only lied to his brothers and sisters but he had also betrayed them by sneaking away to meet the white witch again.
Although, Edmund is not the only one to blame. There was a lot of rivalry between Edmund and Peter since Peter felt he could be the one to boss Edmund around. I believe that Edmund wanted to fell like he was better than his brother and that is why he had returned to the queen, so he could be crowned king and not his brother. Edmund was acting selfish there but Peter could have been a little less demanding of Edmund. Anpother person who was wrong is the white witch. She is very manipulative and she manipultated Edmund into reutnring to her by giving him turkish delight so he would return for more and to be crowned king. Even thought Edmund is not the only one to be blamed he could have stopped himself, so therefore he has to take full responsibility for it.
Another example of when Edmund was acting selfish was when the white witch wanted to kill him. He allowed Asland to take the blame and he did not own up to what ha had done. He allowed Aslan to die for him, his mistakes and his selfishness. He could have at least have expressed his gratitude to Aslan when he saw him after Aslan had died.
Thankfully, in the end Edmund returns to him self and does not only think about himself. He puts others ahead of him and is eventually crowned a King of Narnia. Edmund also learned valuable lessons of his journey in Narnia, hopefully that he would always remember. Edmund realized who was bad and who was good, go to stay near and who to stay away from. He also realized that he can depend on not only his brother and sisters but also the people of Narnia.
In conclusion, Edmund learned things that he can remember forever and ever. I think a major lesson in Edmunds journey is if you fall, just get up, dust yourself off, and continue. I think that that lesson has to do with Edmund's journey because he fell when he betrayed Aslan and his brother, sister, and friends and went on the Witch's side. Edmund went from being selfish to caring and helping other people and their needs.
