I'm reading the book "The City of Ember" and a girl named Lina is the main character. I believe that even though the book does not specifically talk about her traits, the readers are able to understand her. By the events in the book and what Lina does the readers are able to learn more about her.
I think that Lina is very independent. She doesn't really depend on anyone. Lina is 12 and I think that she is very mature for her age. She lives with her grandmother and her little sister who is about 3. Lina's parents died when Lina was young so Lina was left to take care of Poppy, her sister, because her grandmother is old and can't watch her that well. I think that because Lina's parents died when Lina was young, Lina got more responsibility and that is why she is so mature.
Another trait that Lina has is that I think she is adventurous. Lina wanted to be a messenger because she wanted to be able to explore the City of Ember and discover places she has never seen. She loves to run fast and try new things. I also think that she is brave and courageous. I think that because Lina is always taking care of her sister and being the 'adult'. She's not afraid to stand up for self.
Lina is also very friendly. Lina is nice to everyone and she's very friendly to everyone. She enjoys being around people, socializing and meeting new people. I think that's why she wanted to be a messenger for the City of Ember. She is also very loving. Lina loves her grandmother, sister, and best friend, Lizzy, very much. She enjoys to be with them and I can tell that she really cares about them.
I think that this book shows a lot about Lina. I can tell that she is a very strong character and she's unique in her own way. Lina has a very strong character and personality. I believe that the book really helps the readers understand Lina.

Blog Post #14
I think that the book I am reading, "Sharp Objects", touches on a lot of different issues. As I talked about in my last post about this book, it talks about crime, family, issues in people's lives, etc. I notice that the book is written in the main character's voice, Camille Preaker.
Not a lot has happened in the book, Camille is still in Wind Gap and she is talking more about her life when she is little, she is also meeting new people and creating new friendships, which I think she needs and is good for her.
Camille has been talking more about her childhood. To me, it seems like her childhood was not that good. Many people would think that because her family was rich, she would have been spoiled and have a great childhood, but that was not the case. Camille's sister died when Camille was young. I think that Camille has trouble expressing her feelings and emotions. I can tell that she really misses her sister. Also, Camille talks about how she wasn't really popular or liked until she started 'carving' words into her body. Camille explained this and why she did it. I believe that Camille had a passion for words and things that people said. She said that she would write down every word anyone said to her. After she did not have any more paper in her books, she started 'carving' words into her body.
I think that what Camille was doing was very dangerous. I think that maybe the author can relate or knows someone who can relate to cutting yourself. It seems like something important since most of one chapter described her childhood and how she would do that. Camille never talks about her father, she has a step father and a half sister. Camille doesn't seem to get along with her half sister, and I can see that seeing her half sister makes Camille think of her sister that died. I know that Camille is very upset about her sister but I think that Camille should start looking at the positive in life.
I think that this book is intended for an older audience. I believe that because of the issues that are brought up and the wording in the book. I am enjoying reading this book and I hope to finish it soon. I can't wait to see what happens!

Blog Post #13
I just started reading the book, Sharp Objects and I think that it is a very interesting book. I don't really understand how the title has to do with the book so far. Other then that, I think that this book is very interesting to read.
Camille is the main character and she used to live in a town called Wind Gap but she moved to Chicago and is now working for a newspaper. Her job sent her to Wind Gap to investigate on a missing child. When Camille arrived in Wind Gap she helped with the search to find the girl. A day later, 2 people found the girl in an alley. Now Camille and many other people from Wind Gap are at the girl's funeral.
Wind Gap is a small town, so I think that everyone is in shock about what happened with the little girl because everyone knows each other and nobody would do that to a little girl. I think that the characters in the book are very emotional. At the funeral, everybody is crying, even if the did not know the little girl. That shows how close everyone is who lives in Wind Gap.
I think that the major conflict is the little girl who was killed. Another conflict is family. I think that the family conflict is not as obvious as the other conflict. I think that family is a conflict because Camille doesn't seen to have a close family. When she arrived at her mother's house in Wind Gap, it seemed as if her mother was not happy to see her. Camille and her mother hadn't seen each other in a year. Her mother did not greet her in such a good way and when they were all sitting down, she moved away from Camille. Also, Camille doesn't seem to have a good relationship with her sister or her step father. In the book Camille's mother told Camille " 'You will have to be kind to your sister' ". I think that is an important quote because it is the only information we get about her sister so far and it seems to be negative. It tells us that Camille and her sister probably don't get along.
I think that the other conflict is the little girl who got killed. I think that because that seems to be causing a lot of chaos and emotion in people. Everybody in the town is shocked and people are beginning to get scared because that has happened to two little girls so far. I think that I would also be scared, but then again that happens every where and everybody can't let that get in the way of what they have to do.
I think that this is a great and interesting book so far. I really enjoy reading it. It is also easy to identify the problems and conflicts that are occuring in the book.

Blogpot #12: Blogpost Review !
I just read Sophia's post about the book "Deadly Little Secrets". I wanted to see what her thoughts were about the book since I have also read it. Reading her post made me think deeper about the book, the feelings' of the characters, and how it relates to all of us. Sophia's post discusses the social issues that are in the book. Although an obvious issue was rumors she thought deeper and talked about trust and friendship. She also talks about what the book made her think.
One reason I chose Sophia's blog posts out of all the blog posts I read was because I have read the book before before and I can relate to it. I agree with what she talks about in her post. I really liked how at the end of her post she wrote "I know I can say how bad it is that people didn't trust this kid, but I have to think not only how I feel as an outside reader but how I would feel in this situation myself and I hate to say it but I probably wouldn't trust him anymore than anyone else did." I agree with what she said about how she wouldn't trust him either. As humans, we make mistakes and throughout the book some of the characters made mistakes.
Another thing that I agree with that Sophia stated in her post is that she talks about how bad rumors are. I like where she said "Rumors are hurtful to many people. This book makes that very clear, rumors are not something to mess with." I agree because rumors can hurt people and make a big impact on their lives and how they feel about themselves. Sophia also talked about friendship and how the main character, Camelia was a good friend to Ben. I agree with her because Camelia trusted him even though everything she was going through.
Sophia's post made me think about the world. Even though we don't see everything that is going on, people around the world are going through these issues that Sophia talked about in her post. People around the world have had or are having rumors spread about them. Just because we don't physically see what is going on around the world doesn't mean it's not happening. Every day people around the world get hurt by these rumors being spread. Sophia talks about how rumors are a serious issue.
I did read other posts that Sophia wrote but I chose this one because I think that she spent time on it and really thought about what she was writing. Sophia's post is well written, I like that it is in paragraphs and neatly organized. I think that her post is very engaging and interesting because she puts her opinion into the post. She talks about what she thinks throughout the post.
I think that Sophia did a great job writing her post. I really enjoyed reading it and I thought it was very interesting and creative. I liked how I got to see another person's opinion on the book that I read. I realized that I have a lot of the same opinions and thoughts that Sophia talked about in her post. I agree with what she said in her post. I think that her post was successful because I could relate to it and readers will be able to understand the post even if they haven't read it. I think that her post would make someone who hasn't read the book make them want to read the book.
